Our Sweet "Dog-Dog" is 3 Years old!

I know that I post a lot about our dog, Cleo, and it may seem silly to some, but I have always been such a strong animal lover. I come by it honestly...my sweet Mother. Animals are our weakness. They mean so much to us. They are companions for us, friends...our sweet babies. I had the same dog growing up, Sugar...from the time I was 2, until my freshman year of college. Sugar was family, and was always treated so. The same goes for me now, and my sweet Cleo. She is more than just a dog to me...she truly is my friend. I talk to her, she listens. She snuggles with me every time I sit down, she knows when I'm sad, and she is gentle. I just adore her sweet little face.

Well, all gushing aside, the day after Christmas, Cleo had her 3rd birthday. I always think it's funny, that when Kelley and I were newlyweds, we had discussed waiting on having a baby for a while, and we started with a puppy. We were going out to have a date day, and happened to drive by Home Depot parking lot...and there she was. We picked her up out of the litter and held her up. She crossed her front paws like a little lady, and looked up at the sun...and just looked so sweet. We knew right away, that she was the dog for our family. Well, 2 months later, we were pregnant with Mia :)
So, Mia was born 12-12-08...and Cleo turned one on 12-26-08. So they are just about a year apart...and are growing up together. I am thankful for our sweet "dog-dog", as Mia calls her.

Here we are, opening Cleo's birthday presents :)
A birthday cake dog toy, that sings "Happy Birthday"

...and another little birthday toy...

The Birthday Dog...proud of her present! :)

Another thing I'd like to blog about, is how funny Cleo is when she gets groomed. Unfortunately, I do not get her groomed enough, but boy she gets so very, very full and fluffy, and every now and then, I take her in to get good and thinned out! I always feel bad for leaving her, but always get cracked up at how prissy and sassy she acts when I pick her up...with those little bows behind her ears.
Sweet full and fluffy Cleo!

Freshly grommed Cleo! See the difference?

Being bashful ;)

I'd say, She's a lucky little dog-dog!
