The State Fair of Texas 2011

I'm back, and boy do I have a LOT of catching up to do! My computer has been in such bad shape that I haven't been able to blog since August! Old Faithful finally had it's last days in the Pitzer home, and my Dad took it to a friend of his to take a look. Thankfully, he was able to salvage the photos that were on it! Yay! All of the thousands of photos I have taken since Mia's birth are safe and sound on an external hard drive, but I hadn't transferred any over to it since this summer! So, all photos are safe and sound and back with me on my new computer that my sweet parents bought for us as an early Christmas present! Thank you, Momma and Daddy!!!

So, onto the first of MANY posts in the weeks to come!

In October, Mia and I went to the State Fair of Texas with our dear friends Lili, Rachel, Marley and Casey. Marley and Casey are Mia's absolute best friends! We had such a nice time! We took 3 children, all around the age of 3, and had a fabulous day, with no naps, no fussiness, and no meltdowns! The girls were troopers! :)
Once we arrived on the fair grounds, we took a potty break first thing. This was Mia, her first time at the Fair, soaking in all of the excitement...most importantly, the carousel! :)

State Fair Landmark!

Mia, Marley and Casey waiting to ride the carousel...
Mia's first time ever on a carousel!
(How many more times can I type the word "carousel"? LOL!)

Mia, hanging out on Lili's shoulders!

One of Mia's favorite places we visited was the children's petting zoo! We had more fun looking at all of these sweet babies, and feeding them by hand! I sort of felt sorry for them, with all of the hands reaching for them constantly, but they seemed to not be phased by it much. :)

Love these pics of this precious Momma kangaroo, with her baby sleeping soundly in her pouch.

Can any of my Mommy friends relate to this poor pig? Check out her face on the close-up that I took! I totally feel like this some days! Haha!

My trusting little Mia, actually giving this zebra kisses!

Mia, Marley and Casey....

For lunch, we made sure to check out some
of the fried foods! That's a must! I gave the fried frito pie a shot. Yummy! We also had some chicken fried bacon. Oh, man...was it good! We took some time to just sit on these steps and eat our lunch away from all of the craziness!
I LOVE this picture of the girls! Not sure what they were doing, but priceless!
Playing on a giant elephant outside of the Science museum. Right after I took this picture, Mia fell and scraped her knee. It is now over a month later, and not a day goes by that Mia doesn't pull up her pant leg to the barely pink spot left on her knee from the scrape, and tell me that she "fell at the fair yesterday". Silly girl!

Another favorite...the children's museum...

Dinosaur Dig...

Sand Table...

MASSIVE water table!
Mia, applying some of Mommy's lip gloss in the "green room" ;)
You can totally tell in this next picture that our time was about up. Look at those tired eyes. This was about 5:00, and we had been at it since 11! They really did so good, but there was not a PEEP in the car on the ride home ;)

Good-Bye "Big Tex"! Until next year!
Thank you for all of the memories...as a child with my parents and my sister, to now making memories with my own little girl!
The last picture of the day. A very sleepy Mia, not wanting to take anymore pictures! She actually fell asleep in my arms about 10 minutes after this picture was taken, in the middle of all of the excitement, and noise! She was one worn out little girl!
